London - The Clapham Grand
Bloody marvellous! from Sam S, 14/04/14I went to the Thursday night showing of Deaf Havana, at The Clapham Grand. The venue, although it doesnt look very big from the outside, is a fairly big venue on the inside due to the many tiers it features. a very small standing area in front of the stage but definitely a night never to forget. The night started off with the Welsh band, The People The Poet. they were a brilliant supporting act, followed by the slightly bigger band of The Maine. the night went on, and Deaf Havana opened with Lights, featured on their newest album Old Souls. The concert featuring a string quartet and London Youth Gospel Choir in many of the songs really added to the emotions of the night. Followed by the rather upbeat song Everybodys Dancing And I Want To Die and then a much older song Smiles All Round. The crowd continually sang full lines back to James as he stared back in amazement. the setlist also featured classics such as Anemophobia, I Will Try, The Past Six Years and Hunstanton Pier. The night went out with a bang as the encore featured The World Or Nothing Nicotine and Alcohol Saved My Life and a finale of Caro Padre which was extremely emotional. It was an immense night and i would definitely, love to relive it. I also had the privilege of meeting 4 of the band before the concert, and also met 3 out of 5 of the Maine and all of The People The Poet. Brilliant night.

Fantastic Evening at The Clapham Grand from Keith, 14/04/14The Clapham Grand is such a fabulous venue and there could be no better host to the fantastic Deaf Havana. The guys did an excellent job and the smaller venue meant that you were up close and personal!Such a good evening!
