Cardiff is equipped with venues from pubs of a maximum of 150 people to the 60,000 capacity of the Millennium Stadium, with most sizes in between.
The best known for live bands are established venues such as the Clwb Ifor Bach and the Coal Exchange. Many dance clubs put on DJs regularly and smaller venues such as the Buffalo Bar and upstairs at Dempsey's have live bands now and again. New clubs appear in Cardiff all the time to accompany the well-established Cardiff Union and Motorpoint Arena.
The Cardiff Union has four live music venues; Great Hall, Great Hall 2, Solus and CF10 with the capacity ranging from 350 to 1500. The venue also has it's own pub, The Taf, as well as a number of Cafe's and shops.
Currently there are no events for the Great Hall cardiff .
Band were great - Sound was diaboli... from Me, 21/10/13
The Cult were amazing, very good musicians. I felt they could have made a bit more effort with the stage setup - for an international band they didnt spend a penny on the staging. The strobe lights were used far too much. The sound in the Great Hall Exeter was dreadful. We were at the front on the balcony where you would expect good sound quality and we couldnt hear a word that was being said nor was the music very clear at all. Most disappointed. A lot of people left before the end and could hear it better outside the venue.....spoilt the night a bit for me
