James are a British rock band who formed in 1982, consisting of members Tim Booth, Larry Gott, Jim Glennie, Saul Davies, Andy Diagram, David Baynton-Power and Mark Hunter.
While James released music throughout the 1980’s it wasn’t until the release of 1990’s ‘Gold Mother’, that the band gained commercial success. Their third studio album, it reached the number two spot in the UK Album Chart and the singles ‘How Was It For You’ and ‘Lose Control’ all made the Top 40.
James released the hit follow-up albums ‘Seven’ and ‘Laid’, which helped the band break into the US market, with a number of subsequent albums being released throughout the 1990’s, including ‘Wah Wah’, ‘Whiplash’ and ‘Millionaires’.
Shortly after the release of ‘Pleased To Meet You’, James split up in December 2001, performing a final gig in their hometown of Manchester. The members each went on to pursue solo endeavours, with Booth releasing a solo album in 2004 called ‘Bone’.
The split was only short lived, as James reunited in 2007, releasing their tenth studio album, ‘Hey Ma’ in April 2008, with two mini-albums, ‘The Night Before’ and ‘The Morning After’ coming out in 2010. James released their most recent album, ‘La Petite Mort’ in June 2014, which was followed by a ten date UK tour to support the album as well as a headlining slot at Camp Bestival.

James- the BEST. Saw them in the 80s and they supported David Bowie and since then we have supported them and been to every Manchester concert. With respect, I personally enjoyed their music more than Bowie s hence my continued support. Cannot wait for May 13th. SO UNDER RATED
