The Newcastle Metro Radio Arena, officially ranked the 7th busiest venue in the world by Pollstar magazine, is the largest concert and exhibition arena in the North East of England and is owned and operated by SMG Europe.
The Newcastle Metro Radio Arena has a strong commitment to the North East as a region, and is more than capable of supporting the very best in entertainment in its huge 40,000sq metre site.
The 11,000 plus seater purpose built Arena was the brainchild of former Animals stars, the late Chas Chandler and his partner in Park Arena Nigel Stanger. It opened in November 1995 and the first concert saw the legendary David Bowie grace the stage.
Some of the biggest names in the business have wowed crowds at the Arena including the likes of Oasis, Rod Stewart, Coldplay, Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Beyonce, Rihanna, Take That, Kings of Leon, Kasabian, Peter Kay, Mamma Mia, Cirque Du Soleil and the internationally acclaimed Riverdance and Les Miserables to name just a few.
Since its opening, the Metro Radio Arena quickly established itself as a leading UK venue and major North East landmark, alongside the Tyne Bridge, Angel of the North and Hadrian's Wall. It has already played host to millions of visitors to concerts, exhibitions, conferences and world class sports events.
Thousands of children and adults alike have watched the sensational Disney on Ice performances, whilst sports enthusiasts have enjoyed World Championship boxing, WWE wrestling and Premier League Darts at the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena.

Selected reviews for this venue:
The venue was ideal for this concert. We were standing and the atmosphere on the floor was electric. The parking was good but a little pricey at the arena. The stage set up and the acoustics was exceptional. Nice one!
Queen & Adam Lambert (01/02/15) - Best concert yet
Ive been to a few concerts over the years and this is the best one yet! Unfortunately I was too young to have been able to see Freddie Mercury but these guys still made him a large factor in the show
Brilliant atmosphere drink rather expensive plenty of toilets only problem was at the centre of the stage was a big black Im thinking it was a camera which blocked our view of the screen
Queen & Adam Lambert (01/02/15) - Amazing
Absolutely fabulous Adam lambert was amazing would defiantly go back, only drawback was a drunk woman was up and down all night it would have been quicker for her to turn left but she always turned right and the whole row had to move for her
More disabled parking needed and an entrance nearer to the disabled bays needed. Food court was expensive for the quality of the food received!
Queen & Adam Lambert (27/01/15) - Only one thing missing!
This was a bucket list must see! The new boy as Brian May called him was phenomenal! His love for Queen shone through in his performance and of course the only thing missing was the legend that is and always will be, Mr Freddie Mercury!
