Event Info

Violin phenomenon Nigel Kennedy announces a very special evening at London’s Roundhouse: Bach to the Future takes the audience on a mesmerising journey celebrating his favourite music.

In a typically maverick programme, Kennedy opens with an incomparable performance of solo Bach, before being joined on stage by his stellar musicians to entertain the audience with unique collaborations across the genres: from classical music to jazz, gypsy, Klezmer, and much more....

As the best-selling classical violinist of all time, whose brilliance has been admired in an international career spanning three decades, Nigel Kennedy is acknowledged as one of the world's leading violinists. He is also a generous performer, connecting with audiences in a way seldom experienced in traditional classical music venues.

Last year was a vintage year for the violin virtuoso. A sell-out tour was met with rave reviews. The Times announced he was on “scintillating form”. The Guardian praised his “exquisite mix of grace and favour”, with the Independent pronouncing that the Last Night Of The Proms had been the best in years “thanks to a resplendent performance ….by the evergreen Nigel Kennedy”.

Bach to the Future: a hugely entertaining and enjoyable programme, where skill and passion come together for an electrifying evening of music.

    Superb from Allan, 13/05/13
Nigel completely at home with classical ,jazz, and a brilliant showman backed by three great musicians. Did not need banks of amplifiers to deliver great music for the whole concert
  • Cardiff - St Davids Hall

    02/05/13

Superb Evening from Anne & Brian Davey, 08/05/13
First class musicians, wonderful combination of music. The rapport between Nigel and the other musicians was extremely entertaining. What marvelous talent! We didnt want the evening to end and would certainly attend more of Nigels concerts. Previously we have only been to Nigels classical concerts and thoroughly enjoyed them, but this was an unusual programme, in a relaxed atmosphere, with an enthusiatic audience - brilliant!!! Anne & Brian West Wales
  • Leeds - Leeds Town Hall

    28/04/13

Unforgetable performance from Andrew & Linda Crossland, 08/05/13
He makes his fiddle sing. The Fats Waller numbers were astonishing and his band were brilliant. We could have heard more of them in solo.
