Venue information

Liverpool Philharmonic is one of the UK’s most forward-looking music organisations.

As well as the world class Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, our programme of classical music activity includes the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir, the Chamber Music Series and our contemporary group Ensemble 10/10.

Our extremely active Learning department has been working with schools and the community through its orchestral programme since the 1940. We offer a range of inspirational opportunities to get involved in live music-making of the highest quality for thousands of people every year, and learning events for all ages from 3 years to adults.

Uniquely, we also run a venue; the Grade II listed Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. We promote a wide range of contemporary rock, pop, folk, roots, jazz and blues concerts and music projects, in addition to festivals and comedy. Built in the 1930s, the 1,790 seat Art Deco concert hall also regularly transforms into a cinema. A smaller space upstairs, the Rodewald Suite, provides a cabaret style venue.

Richard and Adam (04/03/14) - Best concert I have ever been to!
Richard and Adam have such fantastic voices and sound so beautiful singing together. They also each sang a solo. I cant wait for their next album to be released in August. Im so glad my friend and I had such good seats. At times their singing was so moving, it brought tears to my eyes (they are as good as any of the famous Tenors/Baritones I have heard and can only get better as time goes on). Also their special guest, Charlotte Jaconelli was excellent.

The Civil Wars (12/11/12) - The Civil Wars charm the Phil
The Philharmonic in Liverpool is a legendary venue and acoustically perfect, so this acoustic performance was just sublime by the tremendous Civil Wars. It was just a shame they only played for a total of 66mins!! This was the shortest headline set I have witnessed by any band in 33 yrs of concert going, and believe me thats a lot. I suppose we shouldnt be too hard on them as they have only recorded one album, but surely they could have played some covers. Having said that the support band The Lumineers were superb and made the evening really special. Lets hope that The Civil Wars come back again after recording another album and treat us to some more spellbinding songs. Any band that plays for less than 90mins as headline is short changing the audience whos paid a lot to see them.Judging by the raptuous applause dont think many people realised as they probably dont attend many gigs.
