A Brooklyn based independent rock band initially formed in Cincinnati, The National first came together in 1999, featuring a distinct rock’n’roll sound. The band is led by vocalist and lyric writer, Matt Berninger, while the band itself is comprised of two pairs of brothers: Aaron and Bryce Dessner and Scott and Bryan Devendorf. In addition, Padma Newsome often contributes with keyboards and strings on a number of their live performances, and they have been compared to Springsteen.
