Great gig...Imelda is charm personified! from Nessa, 22/03/11
I went to see Imelda May play at the Roundhouse on 17th March 2011. It was my first vist to the Roundhouse and the first of Imelda's gigs I've attended and I wasn't disappointed. I was only introduced to her music at the end of last year first hearing Kentish town waltz which on this occasion she sang with the Irish legend Paul Brady. She has a great voice, classy style, a charming manner and amazing stage presence. As it was St Paddy's night she sang a couple of Irish songs, so being a fellow countrywoman I happily joined in the sing song. There was a lovely friendly atmosphere at the gig, her band were fantastic and Jeff Beck's appearance was an added bonus. All in all a very enjoyable gig topped off by Imelda reading out an Irish blessing sent especially by her Mam...a very charming and heartwarming end to a very pleasant evening! :-) -

Imelda May totally lived up to my expectations from listening to her albums. She has such a powerfull voice, which is used together with a soulfull side at times. Being Irish ofcourse Imelda has a lovely warmth to her persona which adds to her stage presence. Her band are no less capable, and each one of them blew me away with their energy and gifted ability. I wasnt sure how the double bass would do live, but wow it works just fine!!! Andy. -

Brilliant night out from amandamac, 22/02/11
I hadnt heard much about Imelda May before the concert, a friend said she had tickets so I thought Ill give that a go. John Lewis & his Trio were very good (a little loud, could hear better with my ears blocked) & Imelda was great. Variety in music, tempo & style. I was very pleased I had decided to get tickets. Well worth going to see her.
