Mcfly rocked the MEN!!! from Stacey Rowe, 21/03/11
Saw Mcfly at the MEN on 19th March 2011 and was struck by the enthusiam of the newly returned Dougie!
From the moment he came on stage he lit up the place beaming at the audience and with incredible, infectious energy - fantastic! I saw the band last time they were in Manchester two years ago and their return did not disappoint. A few slower songs in the set this time round but plenty of up-beat numbers to keep the crowed rockin. I wasnt so keen on the gimicky aspects such as the inflatable balls or the shooting t-shirts into the audience as it seems to break up the show a little and the walkway was'nt as cool as the flying stage from their last tour, but I'm being really picky!
Danny's rapping was great and brought a different dimension to the show, Tom was as cool and professional as ever and Harry proved he's more than just a pretty face, but undoubtly the night belonged to Mr Pointer - a fantastic contribution all round and taking the vocals on Frankenstein and chatting with the crowd throughout the show seemed to really bring him to life.
In a show packed with energy and a set ranging from their first hit 'Five Colours In Her Hair' right up to their latest offering of 'That's the Truth' and rounded off with an amazing encore of 'Shine a Light' - it was a truly fantastic and memorable night and well worth the 2 year wait!
