Event Info

Black Country Communion are pleased to announce a concert at the Eventim Apollo on 4 January 2018, supporting the release of their new album BCC IV. This will be one of only two concerts the band will play in the UK and Europe.

Black Country Communion – the Anglo-American rock group comprising vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Trapeze), drummer Jason Bonham (Led Zeppelin, Foreigner), Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, Alice Cooper, Billy Idol) and blues-rock guitarist/vocalist Joe Bonamassa – release their long awaited and highly anticipated fourth album, BCCIV, on 22 September. This is the band’s first studio album since 2013’s Afterglow.

Black Country Communion is an earth-shattering combination of American and British rock influences—a bona fide super group that conveys to the world a simple but important message: classic rock is alive and well, and in good hands in the 21st century. Their communion together forms something that is greater than the sum of its parts, creating a legacy being cemented within the halls of music history.

The initiative for the new album came from Joe Bonamassa, who contacted the band in 2016 to see if they would be up for going back into the studio to write and record a fourth album.

During October 2016, when news first broke about the band getting back together, the fan reaction on social media was overwhelming. It was clear to see that BCC fans were hungry for another album. BCC IV is destined to become one of the biggest hard rock albums of 2017.

Black Country Communion’s inception took place when front man and bass guitarist Glenn Hughes and Joe Bonamassa fused their styles on stage in Los Angeles in November 2009 for an explosive performance at Guitar Center’s King of the Blues event. With the help and guidance of producer Kevin Shirley, they further added to their rock lineage by recruiting drummer Jason Bonham and keyboardist Derek Sherinian.

Classic rock. Classic line-up. Fantastic gig. BRILLIANT.

Joe Bonamassa was awesome as usual. Glenn's posing a bit OTT though!!

    Blown away from Duncer, 13/08/11
As someone who first attended a gig sometime in the late Seventies, (Hawkwind in the Ulster Hall, if you must know) I have seen many things over the years, including most of the big festivals, but I have rarely felt I was witnessing echoes of Zeppelin or Purple in their heyday. In Glasgow I did! Having seen both MSG and BCC at High Voltage in London just six days earlier, I arrived at the Carling Academy in Glasgow expecting more of the same, and that was a wonderful MSG nostalgia trip and a competent BCC performance. However, BCC proceded to blow Mental Mickey off stage, and that is from a long-standing Schenker fan. Glenn Hughes voice was quite superb on the night, while Joe Bonnamassa was no slouch in the tonsorial department either. Together the guys shook the building to its very core with gargantuan riffs and good old-fashioned rock music that had the crowd eating out of their hands. When the intro to Burn began I thought there was every chance the building might. A truly memorable gig that mad a happy man very old.

MSG & BCC What a Night!!!!! from Academy, 05/08/11
Michael Schencker Group, been round for ages, probably a bit rough round the edges. WRONG! My mate & myself stood there during their set gobsmacked, tight, quality, great set list, got a packed O2 really going, hope they do a tour of their own in the near future, well be there. Now the main act, BCC what a way to start 2 biggest tracks, awesome! Brilliant set, 4 ace musicians playing great songs, great variety of styles & to cap it all, DPs BURN to finish it all off, amazing. Guys, remember Glasgow when you go massive, see you next time.
