However, it has been her subsequent solo albums which signalled her increasing ability to assimilate different musical styles and make them all very much her own.
From the traditional to the contemporary, Eddi brings to joyous life all forms of song and what sets Reader apart is the depth and quality of the emotional performance; her ability not only to move the listener but to connect her experience to that of her audience. Her rare blend of meltingly true vocals and towering romanticism combine with an astute and pragmatic nature to make her a unique and powerful figure in contemporary British music.
She has effortlessly developed into one of popular music’s most thrilling and affecting performers.

Runcorn - Brindley Centre
Fabulous evening from Jan D, 24/04/14The only slight criticism of an otherwise lovely evening is that Eventim told me via email that the concert started at seven, whereas it actually started at eight - this meant over an hour hanging around outside the theatre and buying food I didnt want to pass the time. Eddi herself, however, was magnificent. She sang her way non stop through over an hour and a half of wonderful music, keeping the audience enthralled with her magical voice and entertaining us between songs with amusing anecdotes about her family. Unlike many other artists who prefer to keep fans at arms length, Eddi happily signed autographs in the foyer after her performance, giving all the fans in the considerable queue a chance to chat to her and have photos taken if wanted. She has been my favourite singer for years, so I was thrilled to get to chat to her and have my picture taken standing next to her. I do hope she returns to the North West very soon - I can hardly wait!
HOLMFIRTH - THE PICTUREDROME
EDDI READER from Mardy Annie, 11/11/13Highly recommended. Eddi performed a range of songs covering a wide range of genres from pop to folk, jazz and blues. If youre looking for a thoroughly enjoyable night out in an interesting venue have a look at whats on at The Picturedrome, I guarantee you wont be disappointed whoever you go to see!
Newark-on-Trent - Newark Palace Theatre
Amazing from Lotty, 31/10/12I went with 5 other people to see Eddie Reader in Newark. She was supported by Iain Morrison who was a brilliant singer and guitarist but personally I felt his subject matter a little depressing. Eddi Reader on the other hand was lively, entertaining with her stories about her life and her singing was incredible. Her band which consisted of a guitarist, a mandolin player/guiitarist and an accordian player were fabulous too and they all obviously get on extremely well together. After the show Eddi signed CDs and posters and chatted to everyone even though she was probably looking forward to a wee dram and a bath. I have seen her before in Newark and will definitely want to see her again.
