Joanne’s debut album 'White Sugar' first opened the door and Joanne’s career has since gone stratospheric, with her breaking the notoriously hard-to-crack US market. She beat the stereotypes of her age and gender, gaining acclaim from critics and peers alike. Subsequent albums; Diamonds in the Dirt, Almost Always Never and Songs From The Road followed and saw Joanne’s fan base rise globally.
In 2014 Joanne reunited with her White Sugar album producer Jim Gaines and recorded her new studio album in Memphis. That album entitled The Dirty Truth was a return to Joanne’s original sound that mixes rock riffs with blues influences. The album was released in the UK in September 2014 on Joanne’s own independent boutique label Axehouse Records to critical acclaim across the world and has already become her biggest selling album to date.
Joanne is a bona fide star with famous fans across the guitar world including Joe Bonamassa, Tedeschi Trucks, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Wilko Johnson, Glenn Hughes and John Mayall to name but a few.

Exeter - Exeter Corn Exchange
Awesome music and good fun from Nathan, 18/11/14This is the 2nd time Ive seen Joanne live and I think this time just about edges the last one. Musically, she was amazing. She engaged with us between songs and was alot of fun to listen to. She rocks. During her song Jealousy she started the song playing as sweetly as Peter Green from Fleetwood Mac and then ended the song, shredding the guitar like Slash. It was terrific. I also want to mention Joannes support act Bernie Marsden, really funny and a fantastic blues player. His back catalogue of Whitesnake songs was a joy to listen to as well. This was an amazing gig.

Joanne Shaw taylor & Bernie Marsden from denis symonds, 17/11/14Joanne Shaw Taylor was excellent, really talented and a joy to listen to, but I di have an issue with artists sound crew who raise the volume beyond that which is necessary. The evening started of great with Bernie Marsden, the quality and volume were exceptional but soon into JST set the volume was raised to a point where I had to leave the venue becasue it was actually hurting my ears. The venue is ok but the seating is a bit suspect, the raised tier seating row tends to move when anybody in the row moves, make sit a bit uncomfortable.
Birmingham - Birmingham Town Hall
Fantastic night from Mickthegig, 17/11/14Birmingham town hall - terrific venue. Bernie Marsden - an absolute star. Joanne Shaw Taylor - brilliant. A fantastic night to remember. Spent about 20 minutes talking with Bernie prior to the event - what a smashing guy! Without a doubt one of the best gigs I have been to & Ive been doing it for 50 years now. Thanks to everyone involved.
