Trout shares, "The last year has been one where the blues truly came calling, and I came face to face with death more than once. My wife moved me to Nebraska to improve my chances of getting a life-saving liver transplant, and after a long wait, I got my new liver on May 26th, 2014. Since then I have been filled with immense gratitude. Gratitude for the fans who supported me via fundraisers, cards, messages, thoughts and prayers, for the donor and his or her family, for medical science, for my family, and for life itself. Everything matters more to me now. Now, 8 months after my transplant I feel like a new man. I have strength and energy. In some ways I feel like I am in my 20’s again! The past couple of years of playing I was getting dizzy spells, severe cramps in my hand and forearm and played many shows in severe pain. It turns out that was a result of my deteriorating liver. That is gone now! I am able to play better than I have in years. I feel reborn. I cannot wait to get back out on the road again and do what I love."
Walter Troutstars, from 3 Fan reports
Dunfermline - Carnegie Hall
Good guitar from Davie, 15/10/12First time live but seen several clips on U tube and did not disappoint. Guitar solos were exceptional. Would go and see him again but the venue must be north of Edinburgh.
southampton - the brook
sensational walter trout from sherlock, 20/04/12Fantastic evening at The Brook, Southampton. Walter showed his skill and mastery of the fretboard and great vocals; an absolute pleasure for myself and my wife. Also good warm up set from The Mitch Laddie Band and the jam was brilliant. Cheers.
Salford - Lowery Theatre
Walter knocks em dead again! from Ali & Nige, 13/03/12Walter Trout once again played an intimate gig at the Lowery on Sunday night. Entertaining, laid back and without gimics, he laid down some great sounds using strings, skill and artistry alone. Pity the mythical new album was not available to buy on the night but my pre-order is in for it already!
If you missed it this time, look out for him to come back again. Highly recommended for guitar enthusiasts and blues lovers alike.
