The Manchester Arena is one of the busiest venues in the world and the largest indoor arena in Europe.
Opened in 1995, Manchester Arena (formerly known as the MEN Arena) has staged the biggest names in live entertainment including U2, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Pavarotti and the record-breaking 2010 / 2011 residency by local comedian Peter Kay.
In addition to live music, Manchester Arena has also hosted some of the biggest events in the UK sporting calendar including several 2002 Commonwealth Games’ events, the 2012 Olympic basketball warm-up match between team USA and GB, the 2008 FINA World Swimming Championships and international boxing bouts by Mike Tyson, David Haye, Joe Calzaghe and local champions Ricky Hatton and Amir Khan.
The Manchester Arena has also played a key part in Manchester’s rich musical heritage with historic shows by local bands Take That, Oasis, Elbow, New Order, James, Happy Mondays, The Charlatans, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, M People, Doves, The Inspiral Carpets, The Verve, Simply Red and The Courteeners.
Attracting over one million visitors each year, the 21,000 capacity Manchester Arena was named ‘International Venue of the Year’ in 2002 by industry publication Pollstar and has been nominated an unrivalled ten consecutive times.
Manchester Arena is managed and operated by SMG Europe. SMG is the world leader in venue management, marketing and development and also operates Leeds Arena and Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle.

Circling the inside of the Arena is a selection of luxurious private suites. With VIP seating for up to 14 guests, private bar, waiter service buffet, en-suite facilities and the best view in the house, a suite at Manchester Arena is the perfect way to celebrate the rock and roll lifestyle.

We Will Rock You - Arena Tour (06/06/13) - absolutely amazing
I first saw this musical in 2009 and have been waiting for it to come back to Manchester again. I've got to say that it doesn't disappoint! It was just as good as the first time I saw it if not better, I will definitely be seeing this show again!
It is AMAZING!!!!! :D There isn't a part that Ii loved more than others, all of it was acted and sung brilliantly. |

Meat Loaf (29/05/13) - Brilliant
I have loved meatloaf for about 35 years. Ive seen him live a few times and admire him greatly. His shows are brilliant and I was so sad that this is his last tour. I was concerned however that he seemed out of breath at the end of his songs and wouldnt wish his health to suffer. I think he is still recording just not touring and I hope he has many years left to give us fantastic music but not at the expense of his health. Love you Meatloaf.

Public Transport: If you're planning a trip to the Manchester Arena - day or night - then you'll find public transport is the best way to travel from all over Greater Manchester, and beyond. The Manchester Arena is one of the easiest places to get to by public transport; buses, trains and trams drop you only minutes away from the entrance.
If you're planning to use public transport System One Travelcards offers a DaySaverwhich you can use on any combination of bus, train or tram. Click here for more details.
Buses: Many buses serve Cannon Street and Victoria bus stations and many more stop within easy walking distance in the city centre. If you're staying out late then Nightbus services on Friday and Saturday nights run directly past the Manchester Arena. Manchester's free city centre Metroshuttle service also links Victoria station with other areas of the centre. Find out more here.
Trams: Manchester's excellent Metrolink systems passes right by the Manchester Arena, stopping at Victoria. Services run from Bury, Altrincham and Manchester Piccadilly rail station, with connections to Eccles.

Please beware of unauthorised car parks and street parking, especially around the Strangeways area, as a rise in incidents has recently been reported. We advise anyone with walking difficulties to arrive as early as possible and use the car parks at the Arena, Shudehill or the Printworks. In addition, Manchester Arena is well served by public transport from buses, trains and trams and there is a taxi rank outside Victoria Station.
Please arrange to drop off and/or collect away from the Manchester Arena as, due to our city-centre location and size of events, road closures and diversions may be in place at the end of an event making it difficult to return to your chosen meeting point.

Parking
The on-site multi-storey car park is run by NCP and has capacity for 958 vehicles. Although there is a fee, there is an area on the ground floor which has a number of accessible parking spaces which are allocated on a first-come first-served basis. If you are unable to secure a place on the ground floor, there is a lift inside the car park that stops on levels 3, 5, 7 and 9. Follow directions from the car park to the Box Office entrance and you will reach a set of green doors with a small flight of stairs on the other side, leading to the Arena entrance. There is also a lift to the right hand side of the doors.
Victoria Station
Access from Victoria Station (whether travelling by train or Metrolink) is possible by taking the lift located at platform 3 up to level one passing through the red doors, then following the signs to the Box Office. There are also stairs leading from the station to the Arena entrance. Alternatively, leave the station and follow directions to the Hunts Bank entrance.
Drop-off Point
The Hunts Bank entrance offers a convenient drop-off point with access into Manchester Arena via steps or a lift.
Wheelchair Accessible Seating
We have a number of areas within the auditorium that offer access to wheelchair users and their companions. For more information or to book tickets please call the Accessibility line on 0161 950 5229.
Within the Arena
The Accessibility Co-Ordinator can also check the general arena for seats to suit individual needs, for example ticket availability for seats close to the stage for the visually impaired. The second raised tier of seating (BLK 201 and above) requires the negotiation of steep steps and so may not be suitable for the elderly, infirm or those with mobility problems. Seating at the front of the upper tier is 35ft (10m) from ground, rising to 70ft (20m) at the rear.
For your safety, and for those around you, we do not allow people using crutches and/or walking aids onto a standing floor. This is because, even though your friends around you could help to look after you, crowd movement on the floor is unpredictable. However, we will always endeavour to find you an accessible position within the Arena so that you can still come to the concert.
