Airbourne are an Australian rock band who formed in Warrnambool, Australia in 2003. The quartet includes brothers Joel and Ryan O’Keefe as well as David Roads and Justin Street. The band began with brothers Joel and Ryan who first began playing musical instruments when they were still under the age of fifteen. Within a few years they were introduced to David and Justin, and the brothers decided to form a band. Airbourne released their first independent EP titled Ready to Rock in 2004. Following the recording of the EP, the band moved to Melbourne where they signed their first official record deal with Capitol Records.

Airbourne are known for their hard-rock style. They are influenced by hard-rock musicians such as AC/DC and Thin Lizzy. The band have played as a support act for some of their inspirations including Motorhead, Motley Crue, Aerosmith and The Rolling Stones. The band have an 80s heavy-rock look and style and are known for being rough and loud, with Airbourne concerts always having a lively atmosphere.

Following their signing of a five album record deal, again with Capitol Records, Airbourne made the decision to relocate to the United States to record their debut full-length album. Runnin’ Wild was recorded in 2006 and released in 2007. The album was a success and featured the singles Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast, and the title track Runnin’ Wild. Although Capitol Records cancelled the band’s five album deal following the release of the album, the band had built up a loyal following thanks to their hard sounds and energetic stage shows. They were able to successfully regroup and signed a new deal with Roadrunner Records.

It would not be until 2010 that Airbourne would finally find success in their home country of Australia. The band released their second album in 2009 titled No Guts, No Glory. It is the No Guts, No Glory album which finally gave Airbourne the success they desired. Partly written back in Airbourne’s hometown of Warrnambool, it is an album which is more true to the band’s style. The album has earned success in Australia and the UK and they are capitalising on their success with a new Airbourne tour.
