Manchester Academy is a brand name used by the University of Manchester Students' Union for its four concert venues in Manchester, England, which reside on Oxford Road both within and adjacent to the main Students' Union building. It has hosted acts such as Kylie Minogue, Ian Brown, The Stranglers, Super Furry Animals, The Cure, Blur, Oasis, Meshuggah, George Clinton, Nirvana, OFWGKTA, Manic Street Preachers, The Libertines, Supergrass, Lady Gaga and Prodigy among others.

Prince (19/05/14) - Amazing!!
This was the first time we had been to see Prince live and I have to say he didnt disappoint. We were so looking forward to it and the show from start to finish was amazing. I would definitely recommend the show for anyone contemplating going.
City Centre so not much parking. Toilets messy but it was a busy event. someone was in there keeping them tidy.

Had an amazing evening with the best band! worth every penny! wasnt waiting too long at the bar for drinks. lots of security. brilliant atmosphere. really recommended! would have like some seating area to watch the show.

Buses operate around every one minute along Oxford Road towards the Universities. The Academy venues are 4 stops from the Palace Hotel, Oxford Road. Buses cost 50p-£1.00 on most services and £1.00 for night-buses
Nearest train stations: Manchester Oxford Road [1/2mile], Piccadilly [1mile], Deansgate[1mile]. Nearest Metro [tram] station: Peter St,Piccadilly,GMEX [all 1 mile]. Nearest hotels: Palace Hotel [Oxford Road 10 min walk], Ibis [UMIST 15 min walk], Travel Inn [City Centre 20 min walk].
Official car park for the union and it's venues is in the car park in the front of the Contact Theatre, next to the academy. Access to the theatre car park is via Denmark St off Oxford Rd. Turn right on to Acomb St and right at end (onto Dilworth St), over the humps to the car park entrance two hundred metres up on the left. You need two pound coins to operate the barrier
Academy 2, 3 and Club Academy is currently standing only venues and we do not have purpose built disabled viewing provision. We will however try to accommodate our disabled guests with chairs/raised viewing where possible. We will also attempt to facilitate an appropriate location from where you can fully enjoy the gig.
