Devin Townsend is a Canadian musician and record producer. He rose to prominence as the founder, songwriter, vocalist and guitarist in extreme metal band Strapping Young Lad in 1994. He has released solo material on his own independent record label, HevyDevy Records. His solo work is a mix of hard rock and progressive metal. The Devin Townsend Project is a four-album series which has seen Devin tour across Australia and North America, and he will add Europe to that list in 2011.
