  • Manchester - Academy 2

    25/02/11

    AWESOME! from Suze, 01/03/11
Having been a fan of Europe since the middle 1980s and seeing them live more times than I can remember this show did not disappoint. John Norum plays with heart and soul, not unlike the great Gary Moore (RIP) Joey Tempest is one of the ultimate front men and his voice is still in top form. A great night of new and old material. The band also agreed to meet me and donated some fantastic signed items for Music Heals Childrens Charity of which I am a Trustee. A night to remember.

EUROPE - SHEPHERDS BUSH EMPIRE 19/0... from Empire, 21/02/11
Europe blasted the Empire with a professional, technically brilliant performance. They are surely re-establishing their status in the Rock world. The playlist was thoughtful and contained both new and old songs. Keep out of the Doghouse and go see EUROPE live.

I am a converted fan! from Sarah Morgan, 27/07/10
I always think of rock bands from the 80s as the uncoolest thing on the planet. So when my new boyfriend bought me tickets to see Europe I was dreading the experience. However I really enjoyed it. I thought they were great, and I recognised so many of the songs.Melodic rock and power ballads at its best. These guys put a great show live. Joey Tempest is slightly obscene when moving on stage (but thats a good thing , hey?) John Leven is my favorite member. He looks fitter than a 20 year old. I am pleased with this discovery and I have converted so many of my girlfriends now. We all own a Europe t-shirt. And of course the music is great. This is not just eye candy. Its Swedish eye candy , he he! But honestly, great rock show.

The reason I learned to play guitar... from Roman Black, 27/07/10
I grew up listening to Europe, wanting to play guitar like John Norum . Cheeroke, Rock The Night, 7 Doors Hotel, Superstitious, Open Your Heart, Final Countdown... these amazing classics are responsible for me first asking my parents to buy me a guitar, and eventually becoming a professional studio guitar player. I went to this band in 2004 when they first reunited , and they blew me away. They are some of the finest rock musicians around, and Joey Tempest is a much better vocalist than Jon Bon Jovi. John Norum is definiteley the best guitar player I have ever seen live. And in general, this band have so much to offer I hope they keep touring and touring.. They are the real rock nrollers.
