Event Info

After making his modest debut in a pub in Gateshead in February 1993, Gavin Webster has done about three thousand gigs from Aberdeen to Abu Dhabi, Manchester to Melbourne and Hartlepool to Hong Kong. Famed and respected by his peers for his uncompromising and unusual approach and distinctly original routines, he now boasts a large cult following round the country and particularly on his native Tyneside.

Hard edged routines, quick-fire pastiche pieces, moronic jokes and sardonic songs, his unique style has brought him this kind of praise and attention.

‘Funny, clever and as brilliantly observed as you’ll find’ – The Scotsman
‘Virtuoso and close to the bone stuff’ – Sunday Sun
‘Like a cross between Bill Hicks and Geoff off Byker Grove’ – Ross Noble

    Top night from Markymark, 06/10/14
Been a few years since weve seen Gavin so it was great to hear mostly new material - very little from previous gigs - but bonus of the night was the warm up act, Matty Reed, absolutely superb, great audience participation and VERY sharp. Discovered Gavin as warm up act to Ross Noble years ago, now the wheel has come full circle! Only downer was the venue itself, the Tyne Theatre is really starting to look its age, shabby and a bit neglected, even Gavin pointed this out during his act....

Absolutely Rubbish. The most UNFUNNY Comedian Ever! from Spanish Trip, 06/10/14
The warm up act was fantastic. Gavin Webster himself, not so. In fact, far from it. I dont mind the fact he swears but that is actually all he does. Oh, and shout! Loud isnt funny. Jokes are funny and these were totally lacking. After 20 minutes enough was enough and we decided not to ruin our evening any further and leave. I wish we had taken the front row seats now and we could have told him why!. He could learn a lesson or 10000000 from his support act. My advice is become the support acts roadie! He may be good at that. Just to summarise - the most UNFUNNY comedian ever!
