Whitley Bay - Whitley Bay Playhouse
Great Currie Night !!! from Dan Harrison, 25/02/13What a great night out at the Whitley Bay Playhouse, Justin Currie from Del Amitri doing a one man show, Bonus guest artist Garron Frith, who was brilliant. But back to Justin Currie - affable and friendly from the start with good banter and a few wee swearies thrown in, all the classics were performed, some from a play list others by request, if he couldnt remember them he was honest enough to say so, no flim flam from this man. Go and see him, a fantastic singer/songwriter with the gift of song imagery second to none!
Stamford - Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre
Great songwriter and performer in intimate venue from Philhalm, 18/02/13This was a superb gig. Justins voice and guitar playing were top drawer. The acoustics in the venue were excellent and the efforts of the sound crew got things set to perfection. This was the first gig in 40 odd years where I could hear every word of every song. The light and shade of the songs was superb. A couple of the keyboard numbers are a bit darker but the power and impact of No, Surrender was incredible. Lots of faves from the Del Amitri days sprinkled with newer stuff from the solo albums.
Buxton - Buxton Opera House
Worth the wait from Lesley, 22/05/12Wanted to see Justin for a very long time and well worth the wait. His voice was amazing (although he had a bit of a cough) but this didnt affect his voice. Chatted to the audience and even went off his original song list to ask what we wanted to hear. Will definitely see him again. We even bumped into him in the town and he was very friendly. Nice Man.
