Lyyke Li was born Lykke Timotej Zachrisson on March 18 1986 in Ystad, but she moved with her family to Stockholm when she was a toddler. At the age of six, she and her family moved to Portugal where they lived on a mountaintop for five years. They spent winters in Nepal and India. She lives in the Södermalm district of Stockholm.

Her first album, Youth Novels, was released in February 2008 in Sweden, and then in the rest of Europe in June 2008. She performed the single Little Bit on Later With Jools Holland, which helped her gain a following in the UK who wanted to buy Lykke Li tickets. She was featured on numerous “ones to watch” lists, including the Guardian’s New Band of the Day, where she was described as “a singer who does hushed and breathy, ethereal and distracted over lo-fi electronic melodies that sound at once perky and morose, upbeat and mournful.”

She collaborated with dance act Kleerup on their self titled album, on the track Until We Bleed, as well as Röyksopp on their album Junior, on the song Miss it so Much. She covered a Kings of Leon song, Knocked Up, and has performed with Kanye West on the song Gifted. Often at Lykke Li concerts she covers hiphop artists including The Fugees and A Tribe Called Quest which sets her apart as a more daring and experimental artist than some less adventurous female singer-songwriters.

Her second album Wounded Rhymes was released in 2011. The album was featured on several lists of 2011's best albums, including Q, Mojo, The Observer, The New York Times, The Huffington Post and Rolling Stone.

In 2013, she was featured as a guest musician on David Lynch's second studio album The Big Dream, performing vocals on the lead single "I'm Waiting Here".

On February 27, 2014, Lykke Li released the video for the title track of her third studio album, "I Never Learn". Following the release, Li released the video for the single "Love Me Like I'm Not Made of Stone" on March 4, 2014. On April 10, 2014, she released a video for the lead single, "No Rest For The Wicked".

Lykke Li officially released "I Never Learn" on May 2, 2014. Prior to the release, Li released the lead single entitled, "No Rest For the Wicked", featuring ASAP Rocky, on April 21, 2014.
