Memphis May Fire is a southern rock/post-hardcore band from Dallas, Texas, United States.
The band formed in December 2006 as ‘O Captain, My Captain!’ In February of 2007, the band changed its name to Memphis May Fire. They soon recorded and self-released an EP, which caught the attention of Josh Grabelle, president of Trustkill Records, who commented that the EP was the most compelling EP he had heard since Welsh heavy metal band Bullet for My Valentine’s Hand of Blood. They were quickly signed to Trustkill who re-released their self-titled EP in December 2007.
