Awesome band but issue with water for crowd from Lovestruckrawr, 25/09/13
As always Paramore was freaking amazing I loved the set list it was a good mixture of songs from all albums. They interacted with the crowd a lot and I was particularly impressed with the lighting! It added another dimension to the concert and looked really awesome! Especially the lighting during part I I where they just looked like shadows against the white smoky background! They played all the interludes from the new album and had a really good mixture of faster & slower songs spaced out nicely so that the pace of the performance was really good! They just keep getting better each time I see them! The opening bands were good too especially Eliza and the bear! Charli xcx was ok just not my preferred type of music. Although I enjoyed the bands while they were performing everything before and in between was absolutely tideous! The queue was let through multiple doors meaning that people who queued up since early morning were not at an advantage which is unfair, we were held up at each possible door for ages, our tickets were collected and we were told we will get them back but never did(annoying because for many people the ticket is a souvenir) we had to go down into the arena through the stairs that go alongside the seating stands where I almost fell down because there was no barrier to hold on to and people were trying to go down as quickly as they could! Then we were told to sit down on the floor for whatever reason which was again dangerous because suddenly everyone got up really quickly and people almost got trampled over! The worst part was the distribution of water. We couldnt bring drinks into the arena but water was being squirted by the security people at the front into peoples mouths from a bottle. This meant that only the first few rows of people could get the water and if you like me were just a bit further down you had to go for couple of hours (doors opened at 6pm the concert finished at around 11 thats solid 5 hours) in a very hot crowd without any water! Between stepping into the arena and leaving the concert I saw maybe 3-4 cups of water being given out and I was close enough to be able to see the security guards and how they were distributing the water. I can see the unhygienic implication of many people drinking from the same cup but to be perfectly honest when youre at a concert nobody really cares! I just want some water so that I can go on and continue enjoying the bands without feeling like Im gong to faint! Ive been to many many concerts where many cups of water are given out throughout the evening and its never been a problem! Throughout the concert I had many people pass by me looking really pale like they were about to faint some even crying which was not at all surprising at all. I saw a girl who was next to me at one point waving her hand at the security guard at the front who had the water bottle trying to get his attention/trying to get some water as she looked really faint and he just waved back at her and shrugged his shoulders basically indicating that shes too far away! Either give out water properly or let people take a bottle inside with them! Overall the concert was awesome and the great performance by Paramore was worth all the arena hassle! I will definitely be on a lookout for more Paramore tours be because their performance is always amazing but probably at a different venue!
