Robyn’s first musical venture was recording the theme tune for a Swedish TV show, Lilla Sportspegeln, at the age of 12. She was discovered when the Swedish pop singer Meja visited her school in the early 90s for a musical workshop. Meja was so impressed by the young Robyn’s talent that she introduced her to her management, which led to her being signed to Ricochet Records (a subsidiary of BMG).

When she was 16, she released her first single, You’ve Got That Somethin’, followed by Do you Really Want me (Show Respect), from her debut album Robyn is Here (1996). It was in 1997 that she gained her US breakthrough, when the single Show Me Love reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single also performed well in the UK chart, entering at number eight. Robyn ticket sales began gaining momentum.

November 2002 saw the release of the album Don’t Stop the Music in Sweden. Singles from the album received a lot of airplay in mainland Europe and Scandinavia. A revised version of the album titled Robyn’s Best came out in the US in 2004. This led to publicity which secured more Robyn ticket sales.

She started to experiment with a new electro-pop sound that same year, which resulted in a departure from her label. She wanted to express her creativity more freely, and started her own label: Konichiwa Records. The single Be Mine came out in March 2005, swiftly followed by her fourth album, Robyn. The album gained the singer three Swedish Grammys for Best Album, Best Writer and Best Pop Female. Robyn tickets for her Swedish tour were selling at a record rate after these accolades.

A revised issue of Robyn was released in the UK in 2007, which contained the massive hit With Every Heartbeat ft. Kleerup. The single went to number one upon its release and secured Robyn’s place as a credible dance artist. Interest in Robyn tickets and tours soared after the success of this single, and her follow-up hits also did well. She supported Madonna on her 2008 Sticky & Sweet tour, which received rave reviews.

Robyn concerts earned her a Swedish Grammy award for Best Live Act. Her next album, Body Talk Pt.1 was supported by her All Hearts Tour in summer 2010, which also featured Kelis. Body Talk Pt.2 was released in September 2010, which contains a duet with Snoop Dogg. She performed her top 10 single Dancing on my Own with Deadmau5 at the MTV Video Music Awards. Robyn has earned her place among the heavyweights in dance and electro pop, no doubt with much more still to come.
