Sonisphere Festival is a touring rock music festival which takes place across Europe throughout June and August. It was established in 2009 as a series of one-day events, then in 2010 became a two-day festival, hosted at Knebworth House in the UK. Bands that have graced the four stages include Linkin Park, Metallica, Limp Bizkit, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my Valentine, Hundred Reasons, Coheed & Cambria and Saxon, among many more. Slipknot headlined the 2011 festival.

First conceived when Stuart Galbraith worked for Live Nation, the Sonisphere Festival began to take shape in 2007, when Galbraith spoke to heavy metal band, Metallica, about plans for a multi-day metal-rock festival in the UK or Europe.
