The Gaslight Anthem were first formed in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 2007 by Brian Fallon, Alex Rosamilia, Alex Levine and Benny Horowitz. Their first album, Sink or Swim, was available on XOXO Records in May 2007, and their follow-up album, The ’59 Sound, was released the following year on SideOneDummy Records. They released their third album, American Slang, on the same record label in 2010, and are currently selling The Gaslight Anthem tickets for 2010. Prior to the formation of the band the members played in several local and independent bands throughout the New Jersey independent circuit.
In many ways, the band can be described as the ultimate Jersey Shore type band, embracing most of the elements that make up that particular genre. Brian Fallon, for example, publicly embraces the fact that he is a Springsteen fanatic, which shows through in his significant influence on their music. This has delighted both fans and critics, and led to an intensely loyal following in the local music scene.
Their first full-length album received a fairly significant response from the independent community, although several mainstream publications such as Spin.com also released positive reviews. This helped fuel the band for the second album that went on to earn a number of awards, such as the number-one album of 2008 by eMusic, and earned the band even more fans. More Gaslight Anthem tickets were subsequently sold than ever before. In 2009, they went on to support Social Distortion on their European tour. Fans and band members alike were delighted when they were announced as a supporting act for their favourite musician, Bruce Springsteen, when he performed at the Hyde Park Calling event. In 2008, they made history in the British music industry as the first band to ever grace the cover of the magazine Kerrang! without having previously been written about.
The band's latest album, “American Slang” was released in June 2010, and the band are currently selling Gaslight Anthem American Slang tickets in support of the album, including several U.K. tour dates and a number of festivals. Gaslight Anthem tickets are hard to find, given the popularity of the band and their growing reputation, so fans should pick them up as early as possible to guarantee seeing a show.
