The Specials are an English ska revival band from Coventry, formed in 1977. They had seven consecutive top 10 singles between 1979 and 1984, including the number one singles Too Much Too Young and Ghost Town. Their first two studio albums, Specials and More Specials, reached number four and number five in the UK album chart, respectively. After splitting in the 80s, it wasn’t until 2009 that they reformed for their 30th anniversary tour – and they’re still going strong for 2011. Fans old and new are enamoured with The Specials, and they’re constantly inspiring new music.
