  • London - Hammersmith Apollo

    22/01/11

Brought back some fond memories from Gazzerw, 04/03/11
A very polished performance of a varied range of Lizzy numbers from Scott Gorham and the boys. A reminder of what a great songwriter Phil Lynott was. Highlights were Rosalie, Cowboy Song, Emerald, Boys are Back in Town and Black Rose. Do Anything You Wanna Do was impressive with the military drums on the intro. The only let down was the sound quality, sitting in the circle there was a lot of white noise. Judging by the videos posted on you tube the sound seemed better in the stalls.
  • London - IndigO2

    23/01/11

Thinner Lizzy from Jem M, 02/02/11
Cosy venue at IndigO2, just the right size for Lizzy nowadays. Great to see some of the original band after 30 years (Renegade tour) though living on past reputation somewhat, no new songs but belted out the classics well enough. Probably unfair to compare with the past, can never be the same without Phil Lynott, there are some frontmen who just can not be replaced. Scott Gorham (or was it Richard Branson?) looked a bit reticent at times, shy almost! (no, Richard Branson wouldnt be shy and retiring) to really let himself go, great to see Brian Downey on drums. The band seemed a bit cobbled together but fairly tight. Two solid enough support bands in The Union and erm? Overall an enjoyable night and looking forward to seeing them again at Download.
  • Cambridge - Cambridge Corn Exhange

    21/01/11

Thin Lizzy - Cambrige Corn Exchange from Welsh Scrum Half, 02/02/11
Live Rock Music at it best. Even without the worldly talent of Phil Lynott this is how Rock music should be, The set included nearly all of the Lizzy Classics. With Brian Downey on Drums, Scott Gorham on one of the twin lead guitars they were as good as it gets. As good as they were in the seventies they played tracks from nearly all their albums. Well worth grabbing the chance to see them if you can. I was so impressed as a long term fan from the early 70s I am trying to get to see them in Stuttgart later this month. Really the real thing.
  • Cambridge - Corn Exchange

    21/01/11

    F&#?@! BRILLIANT from Oldparsnips, 28/01/11
Well done boys, great to see you back in town. The set list was excellent, the playing was superb, and the crowd loved every second of it! Ricky made an instant impact as soon as he shouted ARE YOOOU REEEEADY. From then on it was just out of this world. I cant wait for Download. Phil would have been justifiably proud of his legacy. Not to be missed!
  • Cambridge - Corn Exchange

    21/01/11

Best gig for some time from Richard, 27/01/11
What a great collection of musicians. None of the original line up have lost anything, and the newer boys in the bad were their equals. I real tight outfit, great songs, bloody loud, great gig. Just a shame Phil could not be there.... Go while you can.
