Born and raised in the Black Country, Joanne was originally discovered by Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart as a 16 year old guitar prodigy. Through hard work and near-constant touring, she is now one of the hottest young names on the British Blues circuit. She is admired and respected by many leading blues guitarists including Joe Bonamassa.
Joanne was voted “Best British Female Vocalist” at the British Blues Awards in 2010 and 2011. Her current album, Almost Always Never, was helmed by the legendary record producer Mike McCarthy (Spoon, ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, Patty Griffin) in Austin, Texas. Joanne was invited as special guest to Annie Lennox performing at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert in June 2012.

Never seen her live before but love her first two albums. Nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to see. A stunning display of showmanship and virtuosity. Joanne had the small but attentive audience in the palm of her hand from the word go. at one point whilst tuning up she commented that we were all very quiet tonight. The reply came form the crowd were just blown away by you. She and her band were clearly having a great time and that filtered through to the audience. What a brilliant gig! She even took the time to sign CDs and chat after the show. My wife comments summed it up for me. she normally finds this sort of music a bit self indulgent but she thought simply.....stunning!

Outstanding gig from Joanne and her Band, and with her new lineup she keeps getting better and better. A highlight for me was her outstanding version of Frankie Millers Jealousy which she performed in his home town. This girl and her band deserve bigger venues.

Joanne Shaw Taylor - Stunning from martin sayers, 15/10/12
A fantastic evening. Joanne's guitar work is as good as anthing I have seen over the years with a voice to match. Songs covered all three album releases. The backing band were first class with drums, keyboards and especially the bass player providing excellent support, the bass player (sorry I did'nt catch his name) was an act in himself. The tunnels is a relatively small venue but the acoustics were very good, already booked to see Tracer there next year. Looking forward to seeing Joanne again in the very near future and at 23 years of age what a career lays ahead of her.
