Venue Information

Troxy has been helping East London have a good time since 1933 and has no intention of stopping now.

In that year, when Troxy first opened as the UK’s biggest cinema, things were done with a sense of style, like the staff wearing evening dress and spraying perfume during film showings.

London was very different then. There was no Victoria Line, Hitler was preparing to do his worst to the city, Abbey Road Studios had just opened and Battersea Power Station was a mere two years old.

But some things haven’t changed. A night out at Troxy was a unique treat then and it still is today – a striking art deco building from the outside that doesn't let up once you're on the inside either. Even the carpet has an art deco fan pattern running through it!

Sure, the building has changed a bit – for the better – and you won’t have perfume sprayed on you, but Troxy remains committed to giving its customers an extraordinary experience.

Public transport

By Train

Oh so simple. Troxy is 200 metres from Limehouse Station, which is on the DLR and the C2C line from Fenchurch Street Station to Essex. When arriving at Limehouse, leave via the Bekesbourne Street exit. You can pick up the DLR line from Bank (Central/Circle/Northern and Waterloo & City lines), Tower Hill (Circle/District Line) and Canary Wharf (Jubilee Line). Limehouse is only two stops (6 minutes) from these three stations.

By Bus

The following buses either go past Troxy or serve the local area:

No 15 (Trafalgar Square to Blackwall Station), No 115 (Aldgate to East Ham), No 135 (Old Street to Crossharbour), D3 (Bethnal Green to Cross Harbour), N15 (Trafalgar Square to Romford), N550 (Trafalgar Square to Canning Town), N551 (Trafalgar Square to Gallions Reach).

For up-to-date news about London’s trains and buses visit the Transport for London website or text TFL to 60835.

We cannot tell a lie, Commercial Road is not a parking paradise. There are red lines, not yellow, so you’ll be clamped, ticketed or towed – all of which will ruin your night out. Please do use public transport where possible. Drop off and pick up is possible on Caroline Street down the side of the venue.

Local streets have residents’ parking zones and Troxy likes its neighbours – so would ask anyone looking for a parking space to respect them. The venue falls into Tower Hamlets controlled parking zone C4 – latest information can be found here. There is a 24-hour car park next to Cineworld at West India Quay, run by Indigo Park Services. From there, you can get a taxi or catch the DLR at West India Quay (two stops).

The nearest hotel, the Holiday Inn Express at Limehouse, is just 300 metres away and has secure parking. Troxy recommends booking in advance at You can take a chance and turn up on the day, but you’re not guaranteed a space that way.

Troxy are keen that everyone can enjoy its shows, so here’s some information about accessibility. The building has step-free access at the front entrance and throughout the upper section of the ground floor. Unfortunately there is no lift to the circle seating and this can only be accessed via steps.

Troxy has an accessible area, and also offers a number of ‘PA goes free’ tickets on a first come first served basis. Due to the design of Troxy, space is limited, so we would encourage disabled patrons to contact the venue as soon as possible to arrange. PA ticket holders should be able to meet the needs of, and assist, the person they are accompanying in the event of an emergency. To get tickets for this area call the box office hotline on 0844 249 1000.

Once you have bought your ticket, please contact the venue via email with the following details so your free PA ticket can be validated, and make sure your visit goes smoothly:
  • The event you are attending
  • The name the tickets have been booked under, along with the booking reference and customer number
  • Details of any accessible requirements (Troxy will do its best to accommodate any special requirements)
Please can you also send a copy (photocopy, scan or photograph) of any of the following or other evidence:

  • Confirmation of Disability Living Allowance
  • Confirmation of Mobility Allowance
  • Confirmation of Severe Disability Allowance
  • Certification of being registered Blind or Partially Sighted
If you do not contact the venue, then unfortunately the free PA ticket and access to the correct area cannot be guaranteed.

We advise accessible customers to arrive at the event 15 minutes before doors open and make yourself known to staff who will direct you to the right place.

Alternative formats are available on request – please contact the venue on 0207 790 9000.
