Dara Ó Briain (born 4 February 1972) is an Irish comedian and television presenter based in the United Kingdom. Known for his global stand-up comedy performances, Ó Briain has hosted several notable panel shows including "Mock the Week," "The Panel," and "The Apprentice: You're Fired!". His work on "Mock the Week" earned him a BAFTA TV Award nomination for Best Entertainment Performance in 2012.
Born in Bray, County Wicklow, Ó Briain attended Coláiste Eoin secondary school and later studied mathematics and theoretical physics at University College Dublin. His early career involved working as a children's TV presenter for RTÉ and performing stand-up gigs across Ireland.
Ó Briain's international comedy career took off with tours across Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America. He has been a regular performer at the Kilkenny Cat Laughs and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and has released several successful live DVDs of his tours.
On television, Ó Briain has appeared on "Have I Got News for You," "Room 101," and "QI." He co-presented "Stargazing Live" with Professor Brian Cox and hosted "School of Hard Sums" and "Dara Ó Briain's Science Club" on Dave.
