Iron Maiden are one of the most iconic and influential heavy metal bands of all time, celebrated for their thunderous sound, theatrical live shows, and unparalleled longevity. Formed in East London in 1975 by bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris, the band became pioneers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, reshaping the genre with their ambitious musicianship, storytelling lyrics, and powerful stage presence.

Their self-titled debut album Iron Maiden (1980) introduced a raw energy that set them apart, but it was 1982’s The Number of the Beast—the first to feature vocalist Bruce Dickinson—that catapulted them to global fame. After a brief lineup change in the 1990s, the band reunited with Dickinson and guitarist Adrian Smith, releasing a string of acclaimed albums including Brave New World (2000), A Matter of Life and Death (2006), and The Book of Souls (2015). In 2021, they unveiled Senjutsu, a grand, cinematic record that reaffirmed their creative vitality well into their fifth decade as a band.
