Body Of People aka BOP, one of the UK’s most exciting and innovative Jazz theatre company’s returns to present their groundbreaking contemporary jazz theatre production MILES AHEAD.
BOP Artistic Directors, Dollie Henry (Choreographer) and Paul Jenkins (Composer) have created a riveting evening of jazz theatre with two captivating programs. Program One - Footprints in Jazz is a suite of concert jazz dance pieces that captures the individual and collective creative expression of the BOP Company.
Set to original jazz compositions & arrangements…Step by step, story by story, the BOP dancers take you on a theatrical journey tracing the myriad of Jazz styles, artistic interpretations and technical panache that is Jazz theatre. Program Two - Touches of Miles pays homage to the life and music of Jazz Trumpeter & Composer Miles Davis. In this original Jazz theatre creation a selection of Miles’ classic compositions including; All Blues, So What, Tutu, Milestones and Aranjuez lay the canvas for enthralling Jazz choreography and dance that colorfully weaves through each variation of the music capturing the cool, enigmatic and distinctive style reminiscent of a true Jazz legend.
