Soft Cell, an iconic English synth-pop duo formed in 1978, gained worldwide recognition in the early 1980s with their smash hit rendition of "Tainted Love" and the platinum-selling debut album "Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret." Consisting of vocalist Marc Almond and instrumentalist David Ball, Soft Cell amassed twelve top 40 hits in the UK and sold over ten million records globally. Despite disbanding in 1984, they reunited in 2001 for tours and new releases, captivating audiences with their unique sound. Their influence extends beyond their original era, with their songs covered by various artists, solidifying their status as pioneers of the synth-oriented techno genre. Their journey continues with occasional reunions and new projects, including the release of the album "Happiness Not Included" in 2022, showcasing their enduring impact on the music industry.

great night out starting with the two dj's warming the crowd up great choice of records inc' mind of a toy by visage and one of david ball's favourites burning car by john foxx. The main event had soft cell getting off to a great start with Torch the arrangement had their original trumpet/ saxophone player playing a major part plus the additional backing singers who were great and added to mark almond's amazing vocals - the stage set up was very good highlights inc' the extended bedsitter and ...

Music too loud, couldn't hear the singing

The set list was great and Marc Almond was in great voice when I could hear him. Unfortunately, the music was so loud that it drowned out a lot of the singing and there was a lot of sound distortion. Such a shame when you have a singer as good and as distinctive as Marc and you've waited decades to see the band back together live. I've been to lots of concerts at this venue and this is the first one where I struggled to hear the singer. I was sitting at the front of the circle, B20 and the view ...
