Public Transportation
RAIL – The nearest train station is York (within 15 minutes' walk of the theatre). BUS - Many bus routes have stops close to the theatre, including York Park and Ride. Please note the Park and Ride does not always operate a late evening service, please see their website for details. PARKING – There are various car parks around the city including Q Park who are pleased to partner with ATG customers and offer a 15% discount on pre-booked parking for your visit. Box Office Hours
The Box Office is located on Clifford Street and opens 90 minutes prior to any show, and will remain open until the start of the show.
Accessible Seating
The venue is accessible to patrons via an accessible entrance on King Street (with level access and accessible toilet). The venue does not have a lift. Access to all bars, Dress Circle and Grand Circle are via stairs only. Guide dogs are permitted in all areas. The venue has an T Loop system. Please speak to any of the Front of House team upon arrival for details. The best locations for you to use this system in the auditorium are front and mid stalls. On site assistance is available, customers should phone the access team on 03330095399 if any special arrangements need to be made in advance of their visit or email yorkaccess@theambassadors.com and include any booking details.
General Rules
Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the venue. Hot and alcoholic drinks, and any hot or cold food may not be brought into the venue and will be confiscated. Due to regulations any tins, cans and glass bottles are not permitted in the auditorium. These items will be confiscated on the door and returned at the end of the show. --- And finally, The venue asks you to consider the enjoyment of other audience members and do nothing to disturb the performance.
Children Rules
Under 16s: All under 16s must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times, with a minimum of one adult (aged 18 or over) per 10 children attending. Children aged 18 months to 15 years inclusive will require their own ticket and seat. “Babes in Arms” tickets may be available for certain pre-school and panto shows, (a free ticket for a child to sit on your lap, aged under 18 months, or on selected shows the age is under 6 months) please check the individual show’s page on the ATG main website for when this is available, and which age is applicable. Please note that children under 5 years will only be admitted to selected shows (pre-school shows and panto) and the venue may ask for proof of age. This is for you and your child's safety in the venue. If you are not sure if the show will be suitable for your child, please check the show’s page on the main ATG website.
Miscellaneous
Please note the venue is cashless and only accepts Visa/Mastercard/Amex payments. The venue continues to make the safety and security of their customers and staff a priority. As such, please bear in mind that they may undertake bag checks, so they recommend you leave extra time to avoid queues, and refrain from bringing suitcases, rucksacks and large bags into the Theatre.
