The gallery is not recommended for Patrons with walking difficulties, problems with heights or small children. The gallery may be a restricted view of anything at the side or height of the stage

Wheelchair user spaces are limited to four per show – for wheelchair spaces and other accessible seating requests, please contact 0191 243 1172 or info@tynetheatreandoperahouse.uk.

There is an accessible toilet at the back of the stalls and other toilet facilities on all levels. Due to the age of the theatre, we do not have a lift to higher levels.

The theatre has two boxes located on the Grand Circle, seating six in each box. To check prices and availability of boxes, or to make a group booking, please contact 0191 243 1172 or info@tynetheatreandoperahouse.uk.

For family shows, children under 18 months and sitting on a knee do not need a ticket. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult aged 18+ for all events. Some events may have age restrictions in place.

For the comfort and safety of all visitors, all bags are subject to search.

Accessible Seating Tickets

To better accommodate your needs, the Tyne Theatre & Opera House has requested that all accessible seating ticket accommodations be solicited only through their representatives. Pregnancy

If pregnant, we strongly advise that you discuss the situation with your GP and take their advice, as well as considering the following:

  • The type of event, i.e. heavy rock concert with lots of bass/vibration
  • Crowds – the type of audience, i.e. lots of movement and jumping around
  • Whether the event is standing or seated. Standing is not recommended for anyone pregnant
Please take into account the noise and crowds that come with the type of event that you wish to attend.
