Kristine Meredith Flaherty, better known as K.Flay, is an American singer, songwriter, and rapper. She was born on June 30, 1985, in Wilmette, Illinois, and grew up in suburban Chicago. K.Flay began her music career in 2004 while studying at Stanford University, where she majored in psychology and sociology. She released her first mixtape, "Suburban Rap Queen," in 2005, and subsequently self-released several more mixtapes over the next few years.
