Alcest, the French band led by musician and songwriter Neige, have become one of the most distinctive names in atmospheric metal, blending the intensity of black metal with the dreamlike textures of shoegaze and post-rock. Formed in 2000, Alcest played a pioneering role in the development of the blackgaze sound, building an international following through albums including Souvenirs d'un autre monde, Ecailles de lune, Shelter, and Spiritual Instinct. Their music moves effortlessly between shimmering melodies, ethereal vocals, powerful guitars, and moments of striking heaviness, creating a sound that is immediately recognisable.

Live, Alcest transform their richly layered recordings into an immersive and emotionally powerful concert experience. Delicate guitar passages and atmospheric sections can give way to thunderous riffs and soaring crescendos, allowing their performances to move between tranquillity and intensity. Carefully constructed arrangements, evocative lighting, and Neige's distinctive vocals help create a captivating atmosphere that complements the otherworldly character of Alcest's music.

For fans of shoegaze, post-metal, atmospheric black metal, and adventurous alternative music, an Alcest concert offers the opportunity to experience their expansive sound in its most powerful setting. With a catalogue that continues to cross genre boundaries and a reputation built through years of international touring, Alcest remain an essential live act for listeners seeking heavy music with atmosphere, melody, and emotional depth.
