CHINA DRUM are a British punk rock and alternative band formed in the North East of England, known for fast paced songs, melodic hooks and the distinctive combination of lead vocals and drums from Adam Lee. Emerging during the 1990s, the group built a strong following through energetic performances and a sound that brought punk urgency together with memorable alternative rock songwriting.
The band's releases include the album Goosefair, which helped establish CHINA DRUM as a notable name in British alternative music. Tracks such as "Wuthering Heights", their energetic interpretation of the Kate Bush classic, demonstrated the band's ability to combine punk attitude with melody and personality. Their music remains connected to a period when punk, indie and alternative rock frequently crossed musical boundaries.
Live, CHINA DRUM deliver the speed and directness that made their music so effective in the first place. Driving drums, guitars and melodic choruses create a concert atmosphere built for audiences who want to experience alternative rock at full intensity. For longtime followers and newer listeners exploring British punk influenced music, a CHINA DRUM concert offers a chance to hear the band's catalogue with the energy of a live venue behind it.
