Daniel Kimbro is an American bassist, musician and songwriter whose work draws deeply from bluegrass, folk, roots and Americana traditions. Known for his accomplished musicianship and versatile approach to the bass, Kimbro has built a respected career performing alongside notable artists while also developing his own creative voice. His ability to move between traditional acoustic music and more adventurous contemporary sounds has made him a distinctive presence within the American roots music community.
Originally from East Tennessee, Kimbro comes from a region with a rich musical heritage, and those roots can be heard throughout his work. Over the course of his career he has collaborated and performed with a wide range of musicians, including Grammy winning artist Jerry Douglas, while demonstrating an approach that values both technical skill and the emotional character of a song.
