Dirty Dancing, The Classic Story on Stage brings the romance, music and unforgettable dancing of the celebrated film to the theatre. Inspired by the 1987 movie starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, the production follows the story of Frances "Baby" Houseman and dance instructor Johnny Castle during a summer at Kellerman's resort. Their relationship develops against a soundtrack and dance style that have become enduring parts of popular culture.
The stage production recreates famous moments from the story while combining acting, music and spectacular choreography. Audiences can follow Baby and Johnny from their first encounters through rehearsals, romance and some of the most recognisable dance sequences associated with the film. Music including "Hungry Eyes", "Hey Baby", "Do You Love Me?" and "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" helps bring the atmosphere of the original story to the stage.
Seeing Dirty Dancing live offers fans the chance to experience the story with the immediacy and energy of theatre. The choreography becomes especially impressive when performed directly in front of an audience, while the familiar music and romance provide plenty of nostalgic appeal. For longtime fans of the film and newcomers looking for a lively night at the theatre, Dirty Dancing, The Classic Story on Stage combines romance, dancing and memorable music in one live production.
