Biography - DMA'S

DMA’S tickets at Eventim.co.uk – your link to everything DMA’S, including concerts, tours, tickets, news and reviews.

DMA’S are an Australian indie rock band known for their anthemic sound, heartfelt songwriting, and nostalgic nods to 90s Britpop. Formed in Sydney in 2012, the trio Tommy O'Dell (vocals), Johnny Took (guitar), and Matt Mason (lead guitar) quickly gained international attention for their melodic sensibility and raw, emotionally charged performances. Their sound bridges the gap between classic Manchester-inspired rock and contemporary indie pop, earning them comparisons to acts like Oasis, The Stone Roses, and The Charlatans, while maintaining a distinctly modern edge.

The band’s debut album Hills End (2016) introduced their signature blend of jangly guitars, soaring vocals, and singalong choruses. Tracks like Delete and Lay Down captured audiences worldwide, cementing DMA’S as one of Australia’s most exciting new exports. Their follow-up, For Now (2018), saw the group refine their sound with sharper production and more expansive arrangements, while their third record The Glow (2020) explored electronic influences, balancing high-energy dance elements with introspective lyricism.

In 2023, DMA’S released How Many Dreams?, an album that pushed their sonic boundaries even further. Blending euphoric synth textures, dance beats, and heartfelt songwriting, it showcased the band’s willingness to evolve while retaining the emotional core that defines their music. Singles like Everybody’s Saying Thursday’s the Weekend and Fading Like a Picture demonstrated their growth as songwriters and performers, earning acclaim from fans and critics alike.

DMA’S are renowned for their powerful live shows, where the connection between band and audience creates an atmosphere of shared euphoria. Whether performing at packed UK arenas or intimate acoustic sessions, their ability to unite fans through emotion and melody remains central to their appeal.
