Dog Unit are a London based instrumental band creating adventurous music that brings together elements of post rock, alternative rock, experimental music and richly textured guitar sounds. Built around an unusual approach to composition and arrangement, the group have developed a distinctive identity through music that can move from delicate, atmospheric passages to powerful and expansive crescendos. Their work rewards close listening while retaining the immediacy and energy that makes instrumental rock so effective in a live setting.

A key part of Dog Unit's appeal is the way their music communicates without relying on a traditional lead vocalist. Interlocking guitars, rhythmic detail and carefully constructed melodies create tracks that feel cinematic and emotionally expressive, allowing each composition to develop its own character. Their sound draws from the experimental traditions of independent guitar music while avoiding easy categorisation, making Dog Unit an intriguing prospect for listeners interested in post rock, art rock and contemporary instrumental music.

Live, Dog Unit have the space to push these qualities even further, transforming intricate compositions into immersive performances shaped by dynamics, repetition and the interaction between the musicians. Quiet passages can gradually develop into powerful walls of sound, while rhythmic sections give their concerts a physical energy that complements the more atmospheric moments. For audiences who enjoy discovering inventive guitar music outside conventional song structures, a Dog Unit concert offers an opportunity to experience the band's detailed sound at its most immediate.
