Dummy are a Los Angeles based band whose adventurous music combines indie rock, psychedelic pop, electronic experimentation and atmospheric sound into a constantly evolving style. Formed in the late 2010s, the group quickly attracted attention for music that balances melodic songwriting with dense layers of guitars, synthesizers and rhythmic experimentation. Their approach draws from several corners of alternative music while maintaining an exploratory identity that makes Dummy difficult to place within any single genre.
Their debut album "Mandatory Enjoyment" established the band as an inventive presence in contemporary independent music, combining hypnotic repetition, bright melodies and expansive production. Dummy continued developing their sound with "Free Energy", exploring electronic textures, dance influenced rhythms and experimental pop ideas while retaining the guitar driven foundations of their earlier work. The result is music that can feel immediate and accessible one moment, then abstract and unpredictable the next.
In concert, Dummy bring the layered character of their recordings into a more physical and spontaneous setting. Repeating rhythms, swirling guitars, electronic textures and melodic vocals combine to create performances that can move naturally between dreamy passages and energetic peaks. For audiences interested in psychedelic rock, experimental pop and adventurous independent music, a Dummy concert offers the chance to experience a band continually exploring new possibilities within their sound.
