Freak Power, the British funk rock band formed in the 1990s by Norman Cook and Ashley Slater, made their mark with an infectious mix of funk, soul, acid jazz, and alternative rock. Best known for the hit single "Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out," the group became part of the vibrant UK scene that brought funky grooves and dance influences into alternative music. Their debut album, *Drive Thru Booty*, established Freak Power's distinctive style, combining energetic brass, irresistible basslines, sharp rhythms, and Slater's charismatic vocals into music made to move to.

Live, Freak Power bring their funk driven catalogue to life with an energetic combination of musicianship, personality, and groove. Ashley Slater's commanding vocals and trombone help give the performances their unmistakable character, while the band's rhythm heavy arrangements create an atmosphere built for dancing. Classics such as "Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out" provide instant recognition, while the wider Freak Power catalogue gives audiences plenty of deep grooves, soul, and colourful musical surprises to enjoy.

For fans of funk, acid jazz, soul, and alternative music, a Freak Power concert offers the opportunity to experience a distinctive sound that emerged from one of the most creative periods in British music. Their combination of memorable songs, infectious rhythms, and lively performance makes Freak Power an exciting choice for anyone looking for a concert filled with groove, character, and feel good energy.
