Man are a Welsh rock band whose long history combines psychedelic rock, progressive influences and extended guitar driven performances. Formed in South Wales in the late 1960s, the group developed from earlier band The Bystanders and became associated with the adventurous British rock scene of the 1970s. Known for their willingness to stretch songs beyond conventional structures, Man built a loyal following through ambitious albums and a reputation for spontaneous, energetic live performances.
Albums including Man, Do You Like It Here Now, Are You Settling In?, Be Good to Yourself at Least Once a Day and Rhinos, Winos and Lunatics helped define the band's distinctive catalogue. Their music combines rock, blues, psychedelia and progressive experimentation, with guitar interplay and improvisation playing an important role in their sound. Across numerous lineup changes and different eras, Man have maintained a strong connection with listeners who appreciate classic British rock and musicianship that leaves room for exploration.
Live performance has always been an essential part of the Man story. Their concerts give the musicians space to expand arrangements, develop guitar passages and bring decades of material to life with the freedom associated with their classic performances. For longtime followers, a Man concert is an opportunity to reconnect with an enduring Welsh rock institution, while newer listeners can discover why the band developed such a dedicated reputation among fans of psychedelic and progressive rock.
