Newen Afrobeat, the acclaimed Chilean collective, has become a global force in Afrobeat, blending the genre’s traditional West African roots with Latin American rhythms and a strong political and cultural identity. Formed in Santiago, the band draws heavy inspiration from the legacy of Fela Kuti while forging their own path with powerful horn sections, hypnotic grooves, and socially conscious lyrics. Their releases, including standout reinterpretations and original compositions, have earned international recognition and praise for both authenticity and innovation.

With a growing global audience and performances across major festivals and venues, Newen Afrobeat has established itself as one of the leading modern Afrobeat ensembles outside Africa. Their music carries messages of resistance, unity, and social awareness, reinforcing their credibility and purpose within the genre. Their commitment to musical excellence and cultural dialogue has positioned them as both performers and ambassadors of Afrobeat’s enduring legacy.

Live, Newen Afrobeat delivers an explosive and deeply rhythmic experience that transforms any venue into a dance-driven celebration. Fans often describe their shows as energetic, powerful, and impossible to stand still at, with extended grooves and dynamic arrangements keeping audiences fully engaged. The band’s tight musicianship and commanding presence create a live atmosphere that is both electrifying and meaningful.
