Romare, the stage name of British electronic musician and producer Archie Fairhurst, has earned acclaim for an imaginative approach to sampling that brings together house, disco, soul, jazz, funk, and global musical influences. Taking his artistic name from American artist Romare Bearden, Fairhurst similarly uses collage as a creative principle, constructing richly detailed electronic tracks from diverse sounds and textures. Releases including Projections, Love Songs: Part Two, and Home have established Romare as a distinctive presence in contemporary electronic music, combining thoughtful production with irresistible rhythm.
Live, Romare translates his detailed productions into fluid, dance-focused performances that balance sophisticated musicianship with the energy of club culture. Warm basslines, carefully selected samples, hypnotic percussion, and soulful melodic elements create sets that can move naturally between intimate grooves and euphoric dancefloor moments. His broad musical palette gives each performance a sense of discovery, making his shows appealing to dedicated electronic music listeners as well as audiences drawn to disco, funk, and soul.
For fans of inventive electronic music and genre-spanning DJ culture, seeing Romare live offers an opportunity to experience his distinctive musical collage in a communal setting. His ability to connect musical history with contemporary production gives his performances a timeless quality, creating an engaging night of rhythm, experimentation, and dancefloor energy.
