Sadness is the atmospheric music project of American multi instrumentalist Damian Anton Ojeda, known for creating an intensely emotional blend of black metal, shoegaze, ambient music, and post rock. The project has developed a dedicated international following through a prolific catalogue that moves between harsh, distorted intensity and delicate moments of melody and ambience. Releases such as I Want to Be There have helped establish Sadness as a distinctive presence within atmospheric black metal and the wider underground music scene.

The music of Sadness is characterised by expansive guitar textures, distant vocals, powerful percussion, and long passages that gradually build into emotionally charged crescendos. Rather than remaining within the traditional boundaries of black metal, the project incorporates elements of shoegaze and ambient music to create compositions that can feel simultaneously overwhelming and dreamlike. In a live setting, these contrasting elements provide the foundations for a deeply immersive performance built around atmosphere, volume, and emotional intensity.

For fans of atmospheric black metal, blackgaze, shoegaze, post rock, and experimental heavy music, Sadness offers a distinctive approach that prioritises emotion as much as heaviness. The project's combination of dense distortion, melancholic melody, and expansive songwriting creates a powerful musical world, making a Sadness concert an intriguing opportunity to experience this highly atmospheric material in a live environment.
