Sina Bathaie is an Iranian born, Canada based multi instrumentalist, composer and producer known for blending traditional Persian musical influences with contemporary electronic and world music. A skilled performer of the santur, a traditional hammered dulcimer, Bathaie creates atmospheric compositions that combine intricate melodies, rhythmic experimentation and modern production. His music draws on the rich heritage of Middle Eastern instrumental traditions while exploring new possibilities through electronic textures and contemporary arrangements, establishing a distinctive sound that appeals to international audiences.
Bathaie's musical journey began with a strong foundation in traditional Persian music, developing his skills as an instrumentalist before expanding into composition and electronic production. His recordings explore the relationship between acoustic instruments and modern sound design, creating music that moves between reflective instrumental passages and rhythmically engaging compositions. Through original releases and performances, he has introduced the expressive qualities of the santur to audiences who may be unfamiliar with the instrument, helping connect traditional musical practices with contemporary global music culture.
Live, Sina Bathaie creates an immersive concert experience where the delicate resonance of the santur meets electronic rhythms and atmospheric arrangements. His performances highlight both technical musicianship and emotional expression, allowing audiences to experience the relationship between traditional melodies and modern production. From contemplative instrumental moments to energetic musical passages, his concerts offer a journey through sound and cultural influences. For fans of world music, contemporary instrumental performance and innovative electronic composition, a Sina Bathaie concert provides a distinctive and memorable live experience.
